Junior Piano Recital by Kant Lormsomboon was performed on Monday(March 16th), 2015 at the Tongsuang’s Studio NaNa.
Program of recital was include works by Bach – Busoni, Edvard Grieg and Frédéric Chopin. This recital was about 80 minutes in length, with one intermission. The first piece began with Bach – Chaconne in D minor BWV 1004 for violin transcribed by Ferruccio Busoni the famous Italian pianist and composer. Second piece was Piano Sonata in E minor, Op.7 No.1 by Edvard Grieg. The last piece was the Piano Concerto in E minor No.1, Op.11 by Frédéric Chopin accompanied by world-class Thai conductor Maestro Trisdee na Patalung
In my opinion, this recital had a romantic repertoire style. It was really full of expressive and very emotional expression. The opening piece began with a very powerful and seriously melody with the introduction of a melody line. The dynamics range in this piece were extremely different for example from very softly to very loudly. The performer sit too high so the energy can not be used as much as it could be, but the performer’s interpretation was very great carefully. The second piece, Grieg’s Sonata is one of the great sonata in romantic period, this sonata included by four movements. The audience was very excited with the excitement of performer and he did it great. The last piece, the Piano Concerto No.1 by Frédéric Chopin the Polish composer and virtuoso pianist. The performer made me surprised because of the duration of this piece is about 40 minutes and he can completely played it all from the memory. The accompanist did a very brilliant and accuracy jobs too. This concerto is very hard because its really need a lot of works on playing technique, memory and the correct idiomatic and precise, but the performer did it great with his not quite enough time of preparing. This recital was simply convince with the audience and made them easily to enjoy and go back with the impression from the concert.
